Find Used Dodge Cars in Utah
The Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle
company began in 1914. It produced vehicles after
having worked as manufacturers of bicycles and
automotive parts. The company was purchased by
Chrysler in 1928. Their first vehicle was a touring
car and soon after a roadster and a four-door sedan
were added. These cars were very well received.
Trucks were included in the lineup in 1917, and
Dodge cars and trucks were used widely in World War
I. After WWII new vehicles were introduced,
including the Power Wagon truck, the Hemi-powered
Coronet and the Royal Lancer. Dodge also began
offering dealer-installed air conditioning. In the
1960’s more new designs were launched, including the
famous Charger. This was a muscle car that featured
a fastback roofline, hidden headlamps and a
full-width tail light panel. And the engine was
impressive, with a 318-cubic-inch V8 as standard.
Furthermore, an optional upgrade was to a
426-cubic-inch, 425-hp Hemi V8. In the 1970’s the
gas crisis hit, and like all other manufacturers,
Dodge had a difficult time with sales. Competition
grew, and styles were changing. They were required
to borrow government loans in the 1980s, and
introduced two economy cars to go with the times,
the Omni and the Aries. The big hit finally came in
1984, with the Caravan. Families never had
experienced anything like this before, with seating
for seven and a lot of extra space. This not only
sold well, it started an entirely new vehicle style
– the minivan. Although dodge was successful in the
1990s, Daimler-Benz gained its control as part of
the DaimlerChrysler merge. This actually gave dodge
the opportunity to receive some of Mercedes
technology, including its platforms being used in
new rear-drive Dodge products. With the new century,
rising gas prices and a thirst for environmentalism
caught everyone off guard; Daimler sold the Chrysler
Group (including Dodge) to a private equity group in
2007. The current Dodge Headquarters is located in
Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The Dodge Neon is a used car
that practical and fun to drive. It has a
welcoming price tag, and is even roomier
inside than it looks. Another strong point
of the Neon is its excellent fuel economy.
It earned one of the top 10 spots in a
survey of the most fuel-efficient vehicles
you could buy. There are two extra trims
that a used car buyer might find, the sport
based R/T and the high performing SRT-4. The
2004 Neon SRT-4 is actually the
second-quickest car in the Dodge product
line, accelerating from 0-60 mph in just 5.8
seconds. This is due to its powerful, turbo
charged engine. The retail price for the
2004 Dodge Neon SE Sedan comes in at $4,067
- $8,294, and this is a good value for a
compact sedan. This latest used version is
smoother and quieter than pre-2000 models.
Although it may not be the most refined car
in its class, the handling and drivability
is decent. All trims of the Neon are readily
available in the used car market, and are a
great car to drive.
