Find Used Cars in Park City, Utah
Park City is located in the
Snyderville Basin and climbs steep mountains to the
southeast, south, and west. It is accessed by State
Route 224 from Interstate 80 to the north. The city
has a size of 12 square miles, and stands at an
elevation of between 6500’- 10,000’, Main street
is at 7000 ft. Park City is 32 miles east of
downtown Salt Lake City and 15 miles from Salt Lake
City's east edge of Sugar House. The population was
7,371 at the 2000 census and the average household
size was 2.72 and the average family size was 3.11.
However, the tourist population actually exceeds the
number of permanent residents. Before Park City
became a famous ski town, it was a famous silver
mining town. It was founded in 1869. By 1900, it had
10,000 residents and 100 saloons. Park City
continued to mine silver until the early 1970's. It
boasts the second largest silver strike in U. S.,
and 1200 miles of mining tunnels under the city.
After a population decline following the shutdown of
the area's mining industry, the city rebounded
during the 80s and 90s through its tourism business.
The last mining company, Park City Consolidated
Mines, started the ski business in 1963, when they
built the first lifts on what was then called
Treasure Mountain. Park City now has three world
class ski resorts, and is one of two of the biggest
resort towns in Utah. The resorts are Park City
Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and the Canyons
Resort. The city was a venue for the 2002 Olympic
Winter Games. Also, it is the main location of the
United States' largest independent film festival,
the Sundance Film Festival, home of the United
States Ski Team, training centre for members of the
Australian Freestyle Ski Team, and the largest
collection of factory outlet stores in northern
Utah.
Used Car Information: Interior
Inspection
The inspection before signing papers
on a used car is a must. While an exterior
inspection may uncover serious problems with the
vehicle, the interior inspection on the used car
crucial too. First, sit in the drivers seat. Is it
adjustable to fit your body type and comfort level?
The safety belts should all be functioning, and
without any unraveling, as this is a safety issue.
It should be noted if the carpeting is stained or
worn. If there are mats you should determine if they
need to be replaced. Next up are all of the gauges
and meters. A used car should at least be
functioning in this area, and if not, it could lead
to costly repairs. If you came prepared you may have
brought a CD to test out the audio system. This is
more important to some than others, but should be
noted either way if it does not work on a used car.
When you start the engine on the used car listen for
any knocks or strange ticks. Press down on the
pedals, they should be fairly firm, and if they sink
right to the floor this could indicate problems
(often very costly). During the inspection make note
of anything that seems to not be functioning or in
rather poor shape. It may not seem like it matters
at the time for the small things, but in the end it
may affect the price and value of your used car.
