Information About Provo Used Cars:
Certified Pre-Owned
Certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles are
more popular than ever. Anyone buying a used car is
happy to take some of the risk out of it, and this is
what a CPO does. CPO status does add an average $1,147
to the buying price of a used car. In return all CPO
vehicles come with an extended warranty, lessening the
buyer's fear of having to deal with problems. CPO cars
are still cost much less expensive than new cars and
they do not have the quick depreciation that new cars
do. Manufacturer-approved CPO vehicles are usually two
to six years old and have at least a 100-point
inspection, sometimes more. You should always receive an
inspection sheet with this used car, and it will list
results for everything from wheel covers to the transfer
case to engines. All vehicles put on the lot under this
CPO name must have passed the inspection. If they
don’t they are fixed before they are for sale.
Certified pre-owned vehicles also generate more profit
for dealers than other used cars. CPOs sell faster, and
this increases the dealers level of success. Competition
among CPO brands is a new and upcoming trend. In 2008,
Volvo came in 1st, Jaguar tied with Cadillac for 2nd
place, Saab was 4th and Lexus 5th. Competition should
bring even better service. Dealers sell certified
pre-owned vehicles from their own brand, but also sell
vehicles that customers have traded in. CPOs do cost
more than regular used cars, yet for many the value of
‘peace of mind’ is worth the extra expense.
